Rumour Suggests Resident Evil 8 Will Support PSVR

Bring your brown pants.

Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil 8 rumours have been somewhat commonplace over the past couple of weeks, and a new one has emerged to suggest that the latest game in the long-running horror series will feature PSVR support. You know, the headset that made Resident Evil 7 100 times more terrifying.

This rumour comes from Gematsu, who were reporting over the weekend on VGC’s coverage of a Resident Evil 4 remake in development at Capcom’s M-Two studio. This RE4 remake is said to have the blessing of original director Shinji Mikami, though their source reports that the remake will be developed by a newcomer to the series.

VGC’s report also mentioned that Resident Evil 8 is in development, set to launch in 2021, corroborating a lot of the previous rumours surrounding the game. Gematsu built on those rumours, as according to a source familiar with the inner workings of Capcom, they state that “Resident Evil 8 will feature PlayStation VR support like its predecessor”.

While we will have to wait and see regarding the truth of these reports, the sheer amount of leaks and overall corroboration suggests we’ll be seeing official reveals in the near future. Are you excited about the possibility of Resident Evil 8? Sound off in the comments.
