While you wait patiently for updates on Borderlands 3, 2K Games has some news that might tide you over in the meantime. Borderlands 2 VR will bring the acclaimed game into virtual reality and release on PSVR this December.

You won’t be able to play online in Borderlands 2, but it’s otherwise the same game many adore, except with a couple of VR-specific gameplay quirks. Players can either choose to move around using the “teleportation” method that is common with big VR games, or have full locomotion with the DualShock.

“The iconic shooter-looter gets in your face! Virtually immerse yourself in the untamed world of Borderlands. Step into the boots of a treasure-seeking Vault Hunter armed with 87 bazillion guns on a quest to stuff your pockets with loot. Blast bandits with real-world aiming, punch psychos in the face, race across Pandora in stolen bandit vehicles and free Pandora from Handsome Jack’s clutches!”

In addition, players will now be able to slow down time (known as “BAMF Time” or “BadAss Mega Fun Time”) during firefights to gain an advantage, as well as an all-new first-person perspective for driving around. I am fine with almost all kinds of motion in VR but I cannot handle driving, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Borderlands 2 VR launches on December 14th. No news on whether it will get a physical release or purely digital; retailers do not currently seem to be stocking it.
