Black Panther is set to hit theaters in just a couple of days, and the level of excitement is almost palpable. Even the online actions of a few less than upstanding individuals aren’t going to prevent this from being quite possibly one of the biggest movie events of the year.
Chadwick Boseman, who stars as the titular superhero, tweeted an image of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film’s hand drawn IMAX poster, and to say that it looks stunning is something of an understatement. Where do I have to sign up to hang this thing on my wall?
Directed by Creed’s Ryan Coogler, Black Panther also stars Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, and Bilbo Baggins himself, Martin Freeman. It opens in the UK on 13 February, and in the US three days later, on the 16th. After Black Panther proves to be a huge success (it’s projected to earn $400 million in the US alone), Boseman will next reprise his role as King T’Challa in Avengers: Infinity War, which will likely become the highest-grossing film of 2018 when it opens on May 4.
