The first trailer for the upcoming zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die has been released by Focus Features, and can be viewed below. The film stars A-listers Bill Murray and Adam Driver, and will open in the US on June 14.

The Dead Don’t Die was written and directed by cult filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, the man behind Mystery Train, Coffee and Cigarettes, Paterson, and Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, and it was filmed last year in New York. It takes place in the supposedly peaceful town of Centerville, which, unsurprisingly, becomes overrun with zombies. As we can see from the trailer, not even the local police department will be able to keep the dead in their graves, so it will be up to the townsfolk to take a stand.

In addition to the aforementioned Murray and Driver, the supporting cast will include a wide variety of familiar faces, including Selena Gomez, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, RZA, and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton. The trailer humorously refers to this assortment of actors as “the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled”, and it’s not hard to see why.

Seeing as Paramount recently pulled the plug on their planned World War Z sequel, The Dead Don’t Die is now probably the most high-profile zombie film on the radar. At least until Zombieland 2 arrives in October. Either way, The Dead Don’t Die still looks like a refreshing take on an outdated horror subgenre, and seeing Tilda Swinton swinging around a samurai sword certainly means we’re in for a fun ride.
