Beyond: Two Souls Headlines May 2018’s PlayStation Plus PS4 Games

Beyond Two Souls

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber and have been eagerly looking forward to the next line-up after the barnstorming few months the service has enjoyed, the roster for May 2018 is still good but perhaps not quite as heavy-hitting.

The barmy and polarising Beyond: Two Souls is the marquee act, presumably to coincide with Detroit: Become Human’s PS4 debut later in the month. It’s very weird and not entirely coherent, but it features Ellen Page giving it her all. If you haven’t played it yet, the remastered version on PS4 is probably a safe bet.

The supporting act, as it were, is Rayman Legends: the criminally underappreciated platformer from Ubisoft. It’s stuffed with content, neat ideas, and bloody lovely art. It’s best for younger players, but I challenge you to not smile while playing it. Whisper it, but Legends may be the best Rayman game to date.

Here’s the line-up in full, including Vita and PS3 titles:

Beyond: Two Souls (PS4)
Rayman Legends (PS4)
Risen 3: Titan Lords (PS3)
Eat Them (PS3)
King Oddball (PS Vita)
Furmins (PS Vita)

All of these games will be available from May 1st, which is unusual. They tend to drop on the 4th, 5th, or even later, so here’s hoping this is the beginning of new games dropping like clockwork every month. That means that you have until April 30th to claim your download of Mad Max if you haven’t yet.

What do you think of this selection? Impressed or no? Let us know, but not before you check out the best PS4 games you should be playing.
