Beth Phoenix took to social media to confirm her departure from the NXT commentary booth. This comes a few days from NXT 2.0’s first TakeOver event, WarGames, where Phoenix will make her final appearance as part of the commentary team alongside Wade Barrett and Vic Joseph.
The WWE Hall of Famer has been a welcome addition to the commentary team in 2019. She has commentated alongside the likes of Mauro Ranallo, Tom Phillips and Nigel McGuinness, who she thanks and gives credit to in her Twitter reveal.
The former Women’s champion states that her reasons for leaving the commentary table will be so that she can spend more time with her family, which wasn’t entirely an easy decision for her. This comes as Beth’s husband, ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge, returned to Monday Night RAW this week to confront The Miz and Maryse, a fellow wrestling couple that may eventually stand across the ring from Edge and Beth Phoenix herself.
For now at least, we bid Beth Phoenix a fond farewell from NXT.
