Bayonetta 3 Devs Say Showing Game ‘Not Our Decision’

It’s taking a bewitchingly long time to get details on the sequel.

Bayonetta 3

Bayonetta 3 was announced in 2017, and while PlatinumGames has updated the fans to say that development is still underway and progress is being made, we haven’t seen any teasers, trailers or otherwise tantalising bits of information regarding everyone’s favorite 8-foot-tall witch.

In an interview with VGC, Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya claimed that he’s “proud” of the work that’s been done on Bayonetta 3, but that the studio is unable to decide when exactly we’ll get a look at any more news regarding the much anticipated sequel.

When asked if fans would learn any details about the game in time for Christmas,Kamiya said “If you remember last time, I said that even though everyone was asking about Bayonetta 3, maybe you should tell everyone to forget about it for a while…I kind of need to keep to that stance for now because ultimately, it’s not our decision what to say and when to say it.”

“As much as everyone is clamoring to see it, we are really, really waiting to release it too,” Kamiya went on to say. “Everyone who is working on the project is of course very proud of what we’re doing and wants everyone to see what we’re doing. As much as fans are waiting for it, we are waiting for the day when we can show it. We want everyone to cheer us on as we run to the final stretch. We want to show it too!”

Considering the years of silence regarding Bayonetta 3’s development, fans have speculated about difficulties or troubles that might have befallen the game. Atsushi Inaba, studio head of PlatinumGames, assured fans this was not the case, saying: “There’s no need to worry…Don’t worry about it at this time. Everything’s OK.”

Whenever Bayonetta 3 does come out, it will be an exclusive on the Nintendo Switch.
