In a new trailer for Battlefield V, EA have revealed plenty of information for the upcoming game, including the first confirmed details for the battle royale mode. It’s been dubbed “Firestorm”, and will see 64 players doing battle on the biggest map ever created in the franchise’s history. The trailer also looks into the single player War Stories mode, along with the ongoing Tides of War service.

Firstly, Firestorm. The reason for the 64 player total is because it’ll feature 16 squads of four players trying to reign supreme in a massive map filled with weapons, vehicles and fully destructible environments. No use camping in a house when a tank can roll right on through it.

Meanwhile, the single player War Stories mode, which was one of the more underrated aspects of Battlefield 1, will feature four stories at launch. We’ve already seen Nordlys, which sees a Norwegian Resistance member deal with the German occupation, but the trailer also reveals Under No Flag, where a British criminal has to use his unique skillset in the African war effort. Also confirmed was a prologue story and Tirailleur, which is a French term for light infantry unit that, specifically during the 20th century, operated in metropolitan areas. Finally, EA also confirmed that a new War Story, The Last Tiger, will be available post launch.

As for the Tides of War mode, it’s a free service available for all players that’s designed to offer themed, seasonal content in the months following launch. Battlefield V’s first Tides of War season is called The Fall of Europe, but EA and DICE have said that the second chapter will take players to Greece for an Axis vs Resistance conflict there.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on Battlefield V, you’ll be able to get involved with the open beta which kicks off on Thursday 6th September, unless you’ve pre-ordered the game, which means you’re probably already playing it right now. The full game will launch on November 20th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
