Back 4 Blood: Left 4 Dead Devs Back With New Zombie Shooter

No release date or anything just yet.

Back 4 Blood

Turtle Rock Studios, the developers behind Left 4 Dead and Evolve, have announced their new zombie co-ops FPS, Back 4 Blood. Ten points to the marketing team for that name.

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive, there is no release date for the game yet, but they are focused on a PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release. No story details were revealed, but the game will feature PVP as well as PVE. It will be a premium game with a campaign, and no, there won’t be battle royale.

Turtle Rock have high hopes for the game:

“We are going back to our roots and at the same time innovating on them. We know we have some big shoes to fill, but we’re going all out to surpass everything we’ve done before.”

Phil Robb, Co-founder and Creative Director of Turtle Rock:

“We are not resting on any past laurels. Our goal is to take all we’ve learned and push forward. We know that’s a tall order. We’re growing the team considerably because we’re stepping up to the biggest challenge in this studio’s history. We know this title has to stand out and we fully intend to make that happen.”

No assets have been released for Back 4 Blood just yet, it is still very much in its infancy.

Turtle Rock were due to work on a project with Perfect World Entertainment, but that has now been canned as “both parties decided to move on”.

Back 4 Blood will mark the studio’s first new game since Evolve. 2K own the rights to that game, so a sequel or update is out of the hands of Turtle Rock.
