As part of your quest to find Ahmad in the Find the Missing Brother Investigation in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, you are tasked with locating an excavation site that may hold a few clues, but you are only given a rather crude map from Hamid to go off.
You can find the map by going to the Investigation in your pause menu, then pressing square/X when you hover over the icon in the bottom left; here’s what it looks like.
The hint is that the excavation site is southwest of Baghdad and there’s also an oasis along the way. This can be a little difficult to wrap your head around if you’re not into your orienteering, but basically what you need to do is exit Baghdad via the southwest exit, then continue heading southwest to this location in the wilderness marked on the map below.
If you’re out in the wilderness and getting lost, be sure to use Enkindu (up on the D-pad) and then follow the yellow circle to be able to pinpoint the location of the Excavation Site. Once you arrive, you will notice it’s a large quarry packed with enemy soldiers.
Once you arrive, you’re looking for a chest down in the quarry that’s hidden by a large moveable pillar. Be sure to hire the nearby mercenaries if you need an easier time getting rid of the soldiers on-site.
This kind of investigation is really where Mirage shines as an open world game, as you’re tasked with actually exploring its beautiful expanses rather than everything just being pointed out for you. If you want to feel a bit like Sherlock with a pointy dagger up his sleeve, the game is a whale of a time.
Asssassin’s Creed Mirage is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
