Apex Legends: Legacy’s Arenas Look A Lot Like CS:GO

Apex Legends Legacy

Ahead of it starting early next month and following on from the cinematic trailer from last week, Respawn and EA have shared the gameplay trailer for Apex Legends: Legacy, aka Season 9, and it’s the utter chaos you might have predicted. Check it out for yourself above.

With narration from Ash, the trailer gives us a closer glimpse at Viper’s daughter, Valkyrie, in action, who seems to be outrageously overpowered from first glance. We’ll also be returning to World’s Edge from the looks of things, but the addition of Arenas have to be the main attraction for most.

This 3V3 mode will basically act as the Apex equivalent of CS:GO and Apex where players buy items and have one life per round, but with lots of Apex twists. Time will only tell if the casuals take to Arenas, but you can bet good money that comp players will be all over it.

We have to talk about Valkyrie, though, my word. Able to fly players up into the air as well as herself, she’s going to be a nightmare for controller players, and that’s without mentioning her rocket barrage. I’m very scared.

The trailer also covers the new Bocek Bow (including its two hop-ups, Shatter Caps and Deadeye’s Tempo), map changes, and the fact that some kind of Dead Space plant has got its hooks into ships that have landed on Olympus.

A lot’s going down next season.

When Does Apex Legends: Legacy Begin?

Apex Legends: Legacy will kick off on May 4th, 2021. It took a lot of energy to not do the quote, but that’s also Star Wars Day, if you didn’t know.
