BioWare’s Anthem Gets Gameplay Reveal at Microsoft’s E3 2017 Briefing

Anthem gameplay

We saw a quick teaser for Bioware’s new IP Anthem at yesterday’s EA press conference but this was greatly fleshed out during Microsoft’s briefing.

Based on a hostile world full of monsters, players will don an exoskeleton suit called a ‘Javelin’ to stay alive. Javelins can be collected and customised to suit the players’ style.

And that’s players with an s, as the game supports 4 player online co-op.

The quick playthrough had an unmistakable Mass Effect: Andromeda vibe mixed in with Gears of War. A very promising combination indeed.

Anthem is currently slated for a 2018 release.

“In Anthemâ„¢, a new shared-world action-RPG from EA’s BioWare studio, team up with friends as Freelancers—the bold few with the courage to leave civilization behind and explore a landscape of primeval beauty.

Wield an arsenal of Javelin exosuits, each equipped with unique weapons and abilities. Band together with friends, confront the dangers you find, and grow in power with every step.”
