Animal Crossing

It’s been clear since the game launched that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a huge success for Nintendo, but now we have an indication of how much of a success it’s been. Sales figures have emerged which reveal that New Horizons is currently the Switch’s best-selling launch to date, and the best selling Animal Crossing game of all time.

In the first six weeks since the game has launched, New Horizons has managed to sell 13.41 million units across Japan, the US and Europe. These impressive figures have surpassed the lifetime sales for both New Leaf, which sold 12.45 million, and Wild World, which sits at 11.75 million.

The sales figures also ensures that New Horizons is the single most successful launch for the Nintendo Switch yet, beating Pokémon Sword and Shield’s launch of 12.9 million units across the first nine weeks of launch. If this success keeps up, Animal Crossing: New Horizons could easily become one of the Switch’s top five best selling games of all time.
