Among Us

Someone call an emergency meeting, there’s an imposter among us in Among Us. The popular social deception game has made a great home for itself on PC, mobile and the Nintendo Switch, but fans have been clamouring for a PlayStation and Xbox release after it was announced earlier this year. Now, we have a solid release date: December 14th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. It’ll also be available via Xbox Game Pass.

What’s Among Us Again?

Among Us is a social deducation/deception game that’s played with anywhere from 4 to 15 players. You’re one of a number of crewmates looking to complete tasks and return home, but some members of the crew are actually imposters, who are trying to kill off the other players. When a dead body is discovered or a meeting is called, players must use their communication skills to effectively exonerate themselves, or shift blame onto other parties.

Players can then vote to eject a player. Imposters win if enough players have been murdered, while crewmates win by completing enough tasks or by ejecting the imposters. It’s about as simple as games get, but if you’ve got a consistent friend group to play with, Among Us is almost unbeatable in terms of replayability.

Are There More Expensive Versions Of Among Us?

If you’re a really big fan of Among Us or you’re looking to support Inner Sloth, there’s some additional retail versions to look out for, though two of them will be launching next year. The Crewmate edition, which costs £27.99/€32.99 launches December 14th in the UK and Europe, and December 16th for Japan and South Korea. The US, Canadian and Latin American versions launches January 11th. This version includes the base game plus all DLC items, along with some retail exclusive items, a 3D lenticular case, a sticker sheet, one of 12 collectible holographic access cards, a Skeld map poster and a code for some PC/phone wallpapers.

The Imposter Edition, which costs £44.99/€49.99, will include all of the items mentioned above, along with a “Crewmate vs Imposter” lanyard, a purple Crewmate plush (that may or may not be an imposter), an enamel spinner pin and a limited edition box to hold it all in. Finally, the Ejected edition, which costs £74.99/€89.99 includes all of those items (with a different limited edition box), also offers a crewmate fleece blanket and a red imposter beanie. Both of these editions are set to launch in Spring 2022, with pre-orders live now through the Maximum Games store.
