Combat Rating in Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a number that indicates how well equipped you are for missions, similarly to how it works with Power Level in Destiny 2, a clear inspiration for the game.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite isn’t a live service game in the traditional sense, but players are nudged towards replaying missions on different difficulties with different classes to unlock everything and hit full completion. You’re going to want to increase your combat rating in Aliens: Fireteam Elite to manage just that.

The main way to improve your Combat Rating in Aliens: Fireteam Elite is simply to unlock and equip better weapons and attachments, as well as to just generally level up your character.

All weapons and gear comes with a base Combat Rating. For weapons, that base rating can be improved by adding attachments and also using them more to increase their amount of stars, which will also unlock new abilities, such as increased fire rate.

You can also boost your Combat Rating by changing your perks in your Perk Grid, which can be found in Loadout > [Class] Perks. This is a unique system with more room to place your perks on a grid unlocking the more you level yourself up.

You can unlock perks and their modifiers by playing normally, finding Hidden Caches, and also by purchasing them from SSGT Park.
