Alicia Vikander’s Neck Sure Looks Weird In This Tomb Raider Poster

Since the guys over at Birth Movies Death pointed it out, I can’t stop gawking at Alicia Vikander’s bizarre neck in the poster for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.

Thanks to what must have been some Photoshop jiggery, her neck extends to a strange angle and kind of loops around on itself? I can’t really classify what’s going on here, so just make your own mind up.

Something’s off, right? The rest of the poster is neat if cliched to the nth degree (troubled protagonist with their back to camera), but I can’t look past that neck. The title font also makes me think of some kind of shark film for some reason, too.

I’ve spent 100 more words analysing a poster than I ever have in the past, but I am pretty keen on the reboot. Vikander is an exceptional talent and is a great fit for the embattled Lara Croft seen in the series’ fairly recent game reboot, so here’s hoping it turns out to be better than the middling Jolie versions. The only thing I can remember about those it that my cousin specifically asked me not to get it him on DVD for Christmas, but I got it for him anyway.

Tomb Raider climbs its way into theaters March 16, 2018. A trailer is due out tomorrow, so watch this space.
