A Plague Tale: Requiem is a brilliant narrative adventure game, so much so that you might want to revisit the adventure all over again. Given how much the game relies on skills, upgrades and collectibles, it would be somewhat frustrating to have to find everything again, or start from scratch with regards to your capabilities. With that in mind, we’re here to let you know if A Plague Tale: Requiem does or doesn’t contain a New Game Plus mode.
Thankfully, A Plague Tale: Requiem does contain a New Game Plus, which obviously unlocks when you finish the game. After finishing the game, you can either revisit previous chapters, or start a new save file using a New Game Plus save, which will allow you to start with all your upgrades, skills and Codex collectibles. The game will also be played at a special difficulty level, making the game just that little bit harder.
There is a reward for completing the base game, which is the Order’s Crossbow, a new cosmetic skin for Amicia’s crossbow. Completing the game again in New Game Plus will then unlock the Count’s Crossbow, a third skin for the crossbow. It’s not a huge reward, but if you’re going for a full 100% completion, you’ll have to finish A Plague Tale: Requiem twice.
Considering that there’s no achievement or trophy for completing the game in New Game Plus, its inclusion in A Plague Tale: Requiem is a bit strange, as most players would likely just revisit previous chapters to hoover up collectibles and achievements/trophies without starting a new save file. Still, sometimes it’s just fun to revisit previous chapters as a powered up version of yourself.
