EA Won’t Have An E3 2019 Press Conference

They'll still be at E3, but there won't be a big press conference at 2am, thank God.

In a new post on their website, publishing powerhouse Electronic Arts have announced that they won’t be holding an official press conference at E3 2019. That said, they will still be hosting their annual EA Play event, which will play host to multiple live streams from developers making some of EA’s biggest games. These streams will start on Friday, June 7th.

The official post reads: “We’re skipping the press conference this year and are replacing it with multiple live streams that will air during the first two days of the event, bringing you more of what you’ve told us you want – more gameplay and insights from the teams making the games.”

The EA Play event will also invite various content creators, so you can expect a wealth of videos and livestreams from EA’s Creator’s Cave, along with the promise of exclusive reveals on EA.com. There will also be an EA Play fanfest on June 8th and 9th, so if you’re in LA for E3, you can swing by and check out what they have to offer. We’re betting that there will at least be a sports game. Call us crazy.

Personally, the idea of two less press conferences this year over last year makes the lazy worker in me giddy with joy. Trying to cover a bunch of different press conferences in the early hours of the morning was a massive pain in the arse, but this year’s staggered live streams might just end up being worse.
