So, after weeks of speculation and backlash against WWE, it would seem that, finally, Mauro Ranallo and World Wrestling Entertainment have parted ways.
Newsweek.com broke the story earlier today, after Ranallo sent an email. He stated that the departure had nothing to do with the accusations of bullying from fellow Smackdown Live commentator, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield.
Ranallo was quoted as saying:
“WWE and I have mutually agreed to part ways. It has nothing to do with JBL.”
Ranallo has not been a part of WWE TV since early March, which Dave Meltzer had reported as being partly due to off-camera issues with JBL.
With Ranallo and WWE recently undergoing contract negotiations in order to issue a settlement, it may be the case that Mauro downplays or stays quiet about alleged issues for the foreseeable future, if he ever talks about it in detail at all.
Many fans, in response, called for JBL to be fired from the company, leading to online petitions and Twitter campaigns.
Mauro made his return to commentary recently, calling a show for Rizin Fighting, a Japanese Mixed Martial Arts company.
