The God of Thunder Will Have A New Look in Thor: Ragnarok

Entertainment Weekly has just released some stills from the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, the latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s saga about Norse God, Thor Odinson. The stills show us a new look for the God of Thunder, and also show off some new designs for the supporting cast.

One of Thor’s most well-known features are his long golden locks, which are suspiciously absent in the new cover photo just released by Entertainment Weekly:

Here, we see him with shorter, cropped hair, positioned beside co-stars Cate Blanchett (left) and Tessa Thompson (right). Along with the cover photo, more stills have been released, including one showing Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner, which was to be expected considering that Thor:Ragnarok is reportedly taking inspiration from Marvel’s Planet Hulk series:

As well as this, we also got a sneak peek at Tom Hiddleston returning as everyone’s favourite soft bad boy, Loki:

Everyone’s favourite eyeliner-wearing Dad Jeff Goldblum will be playing The Grandmaster, a Marvel “Elder of the Universe” who is one of the oldest and most knowledgeable beings within the Marvel Universe, alongside Cate Blanchett who is playing Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death:

Alongside the main stars of Thor: Ragnarok, the cast will be accompanied by a host of other characters, including a confirmed cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. (Because if there’s one thing that Thor: Ragnarok needed to make it perfect, it was another big red swishy cloak.) Also returning to the film will be Idris Elba as Heimdall and Jaimie Alexander as Sif. Two of the Warriors Three (Tadanobu Asano, who plays Hogun the Grim, and Ray Stevenson, who plays Volstagg the Voluminous) are also confirmed as returning, but so far there’s no word on Zachary Levi returning to play Space Robin Hood, aka Fandral. Fingers crossed for a swashbuckling return!

Thor: Ragnarok is due for release in November of this year, but there’s plenty of other silver screen superhero stories to look forward to whilst you wait.
