Despite their incredibly busy schedule, Telltale Games are still finding time to return to their most critically acclaimed franchise.
Some new images from The Walking Dead: Season 3 were released at the San Diego Comic-Con, and in pure Telltale fashion, they look every bit as beautiful as you would expect. Those classic cel-shaded visuals never get old.

They were also keen to point out that whilst Season 3 will be immensely satisfying to fans, it will also be accessible to newcomers who didn’t play the first two games, so don’t feel obliged to go back and finish both of them just to get a better understanding of the plot!
And speaking of the plot, the game will follow series regular Clementine, along with new protagonist Javier, as they continue to struggle to survive in a world where the dead just won’t stay dead. It will also introduce a currently unnamed character who is struggling to keep his family together in the midst of the zombie chaos.
According to the press release:
Eagle-eyed fans will recognize that the poster revealed today is an homage to the original poster for The Walking Dead when the concept was first shown at SDCC in 2011. In contrast to the original, Clem is no longer being protected, and stands shoulder to shoulder with mysterious newcomer Javier.

Episode 1 of The Walking Dead: Season 3 will rise from the grave later this year.
