It seems like a long time ago that we last saw the survivors of AMC’s spin-off zombie show, Fear the Walking Dead. Following the death of a crucial cast member, the group looked to the ocean for an escape to a boat, which really is one of the safest places to be during the undead apocalypse.
Ahead of the second season landing in April, AMC have worked with Entertainment Weekly to bring us a brand new promo, which you can obsess over below.
It seems as if the ocean isn’t as safe a haven as the group might have expected. Just from the thirty seconds of promo, you can already tell that they will be up against unlike ever before. As has become the theme with the Walking Dead in recent seasons, the biggest danger is going to be survivors from now on.
Having watched the first season of Fear, I will admit that I was a little disappointed. It promised to be told from the viewpoint of those right at the start of the outbreak, but it only did so for the first few episodes before it skipped ahead a few months down the line. Watching civilisation properly crumble is something no zombie media has ever managed to nail, so it’s a shame that FTWD couldn’t either.
Will still be watching season 2 when it drops on April 10th, though.
