Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth – How To Upgrade Your Weapons

In an RPG such as Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, your party is only as strong as the tools you use to batter anyone stood in your way, and with the various jobs that Ichiban and the gang can learn during the game, there’s a wide array of weapons to find and purchase too. However, if you’re going to get the most out of your weapons, you’re going to want to upgrade them, so this is how you can upgrade your weapons in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

The ability to upgrade your weapons is unlocked in Chapter 4 as you exit the hotel in Hawaii your party has been staying at. You’ll run into the bartender from Revolve Bar who’ll put you on to an auto repair shop called Julie’s Gearworks, which boasts a side hustle that specialises in weapon repairs and crafting. Once you’ve spoken to the bartender, head on over to the waypoint on Hula Avenue.

Inside, you’ll meet Julie, the woman who’s going to take your gear from good to god-tier. Here, you can craft elemental weapons using the weapons you can buy from the shops around Hawaii, and you can create weapon upgrades and enhancements from the various fragments that can be found from searching dumpsters or picking up glowing items that are lying on the ground.

Julie’s Gearworks functions in the same way as the Romance Workshop from Yakuza: Like A Dragon, in that you can upgrade the wares and functions of the shop by investing money into the venture, or by purchasing weapon upgrades and the like. Basically, the more money you spend in Julie’s Gearworks, the better the stock will be later on, so pays to- well, pay. Once the story takes you over to the West side of Honolulu too, you can find another Julie’s Gearworks station within the Anaconda Mall.

As you get to the higher rated weapons, you’ll need rarer materials such as crystals and geodes, and while these can also be found while exploring the city, your best bet is to explore the dungeon that unlocks in Chapter 5. Here, you can find the materials you need a lot more often, and even trade the points you earn in the dungeon with Robo-Michi for materials.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
