While your mission in Starfield is to explore the outer reaches of space, discover new technology, and learn things that nobody has ever known before, a lot of your time will actually be spent throwing exploding balls at naughty pirates. Humanity can only progress so far, after all. However, sometimes Starfield has a lot of systems that feel a bit unintuitive, including how to actually lob grenades in the first place.
To throw grenades in Starfield, you must first equip them from your inventory. Go into your inventory (tab on PC), then go down to throwables. If you have come across any grenades so far, equip them, then press G on keyboard or RB on an Xbox controller to start making more big bangs in the universe.
If you’re looking for where to get throwables, we’ve found them somewhat often on the bodies of human enemies. You can also get other explosive throwables like mines that you can equip from this menu too.
