Starfield is a game with a lot of stuff. A whole lot of stuff. You could even call it Stuff-field, there’s that much stuff. Therefore, it can get a bit tiring having to go up to every single item, and every single body to hammer the pick-up button and collect your loot, so you’re probably wonder if you can auto pick-up instead.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any option to auto pick-up in Starfield right now, just the manual option of taking items one by one. This is probably to stop players from getting immediately over-encumbered, as there are so many items around that can be interacted with that it wouldn’t take long at all for your walking to slow to a crawl.
However, that doesn’t mean that there will never be the option in Starfield, as we are still very early on in its life. A quality of life update may allow you to auto pick up all bullets, for instance, which would really come in handy and save a lot of time. For now, though, it’s time to get those knees bent and keep picking up everything that isn’t nailed down (and sometimes even then the temptation is there.
Starfield is available on PC and Xbox.
