With the coming of Armored Core 6, the face of soulslike games may change drastically. However, the demand for classic soulslike games will probably never disappear either. If you enjoyed the hack-and-slash nature of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, you might be looking for the next challenge, which might just be the upcoming Lies Of P, but is it coming to Nintendo Switch?

Lies Of P is often compared to Bloodborne. Well, much like Bloodborne, Lies Of P is not coming to the Nintendo Switch. The Lies Of P website does not list the Nintendo Switch as one of the available platforms on launch.

Is it likely that Lies Of P will eventually come to the Switch? It’s tough to say. One of the developers, Round8 Studio, is relatively new to the gaming industry. The only other game they’ve made is an MMORPG called Bless Unleashed. So, it’s hard to judge whether they’re a company that would bother optimizing their games for the Switch. Only time will tell.

The other developer, Neowiz Games, has occasionally made games with a Nintendo Switch version. So, there is a chance, though it is somewhat small considering how dated the Switch hardware now is at this point in its life. A cloud version of the game is perhaps more likely, though the demand for streamed versions of games on Switch never seems to have been that high so don’t hold your breath.

About Lies Of P

Just to clear the air, despite the striking similarities to Bloodborne, FromSoftware has no involvement with Lies Of P. It is being developed by Round8 Studio and Neowiz Games. The latter is also the publisher of the game.

Even the plot isn’t based on Bloodborne. Lies Of P is a modern retelling of the classical tale of Pinocchio. You play as Pinocchio, suddenly awakened by a mysterious voice. Your main goal is to find your creator, Geppetto. Easier said than done though, because you’ll have to find Geppetto in Krat, a city that has fallen to darkness and chaos.

Gameplay-wise, there’s no denying that Lies Of P plays very similarly to the popular FromSoftware titles. One thing that sets it apart is the game’s dialogue system. There’s a “lie system” that will affect the world around you.

Making choices through dialogue isn’t new to gaming. However, it is new to soulslike games. It’ll be exciting to see how many possible routes the game can have based on your responses to other characters.

Also, there are some small differences in the combat. Based on the demo, it seems like the focus will shift from dodging and rolling to blocking or parrying.

Lies Of P will drop on September 19th, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S. Players who pre-ordered the game will receive a unique outfit. Also, if you pre-ordered the deluxe version, you get to play Lies Of P three days early.
