Amazon Prime has hit the jackpot with Reacher, an exclusive series that quickly became among the most-watched shows of 2022. For those who don’t know, the show is actually based on the famous book series of the same name written by Lee Child, and the total number of novels spanning the story is over two dozen. That being said, Season 1 only scratched the surface of what the universe has to offer, and fans around the globe are impatiently awaiting Reacher: Season 2.

The good news is that the critical reception didn’t fly under Amazon Prime’s radar, and Reacher: Season 2 was confirmed to be in production shortly after the first season finished airing. Much about the new season has been revealed in the time leading up till now, so for those interested, here’s everything you need to know.

When Is Reacher: Season 2 Coming Out?

There’s no official release date for Reacher: Season 2 right now. Amazon Prime hasn’t issued a statement regarding when the show will return, but Amazon’s Head of Television Vernon Sanders did comment on the release date saying that 2023 isn’t totally out of the question.

Filming for the new season began in September 2022, and in late February, Prime revealed that the on-set activities had wrapped up. Furthermore, as Vernon stated that “…..there’s a good chance that that show will be back next year (2023)”, it looks like a Fall 2023 release window for Reacher: Season 2 is definitely possible. However, if that doesn’t come to fruition then early 2024 is our next best bet.

Who Is In The Cast of Reacher: Season 2?

Fans of the Jack Reacher book series will probably be aware that there is a variety of lead characters in the universe rather than a single set group. Every novel brings with it many new faces, although, yes, some characters are present throughout. For Reacher: Season 2 specifically though, Alan Ritchson is returning as Jack Reacher, and Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, while some supporting actors are reprising their roles, and most aren’t.

New additions to the cast for Reacher: Season 2 include Serinda Swan who has been cast as Karla Dixon, Rory Cochrane from Dazed and Confused, Domenick Lombardozzi from Paramount’s Tulsa King, Ferdinand Kingsley from Netflix’s The Sandman, and Josh Blacker best known for his role in Apple’s See. Unfortunately, Willa Fitzgerald won’t be returning as the bold police officer Roscoe Conklin — a bummer, but that’s how all the books go.

A great cast, high-stakes fights, and a thrilling plot that keeps you guessing are hallmarks of a great show, so it isn’t a surprise that Reacher: Season 2 is already on its way, albeit you’ll have to wait a little while longer. The second season will interestingly also adapt the 11th book from Lee Child’s series titled “Bad Luck and Trouble,” which is hard to take in since they’re skipping 10 books. But since the story is always self-contained, and because the show will have some obvious changes made to the plot, it’s rather exciting what the next installment will bring to fans.
