For platforming fans, Demon Turf was one of the biggest hits of 2021, offering challenging levels and imaginative design in equal measure, so today’s surprise announcement from Fabraz and Playtonic Friends should be appealing to those players: there’s a new Demon Turf game, called Neon Splash, and you can play it right now on PC and Nintendo Switch.
Demon Turf: Neon Splash sees Beebz and her friends sucked into a painting filled with bright neon colours. In order to escape, you’ll need to do what Beebz does best: complete complex and intricate platforming levels. If it worked in the original Demon Turf, it’ll work here too.
Neon Splash includes 10 new levels, which are all focused on platforming. There’s no physics based combat here, just good old fashioned jumping, which is sweet. Speaking of sweet, there’s plenty for you to collect in the game’s levels, which can be spent on one of six mods. There are also hidden vinyls to collect, which unlock an additional 10 remix levels, similar to the return trip levels from the original Demon Turf that created additional, challenging levels.
While it’s disappointing that Demon Turf: Neon Splash isn’t dropping on Xbox and PlayStation, like the original game did, it’s still great to see an amazing game get some kind of follow-up. However, the best news is that it’s available now for the ridiculously low price of $4.99. If that’s not enough to convince you, I don’t know what is.
