Leonine Misbegotten is an optional Great Enemy boss that can be encountered in Elden Ring in the very south of Castle Morne on the Weeping Peninsula in Limgrave.

Here’s where to find Leonine Misbegotten in Elden Ring.

First things first: this isn’t going to be an easy fight if you’re just starting out in Limgrave, as you’re going to need high stamina and FP to get away from their plentiful attacks and also deal ranged damage. You may want to wait until you’re at least level 25, otherwise they will be killing you in one or two hits.

However, while Leonine Misbegotten may give you an achievement for beating them, they aren’t too tough once you figure out their patterns and use the space of the arena.

First off, summon the Lone Wolf Ashes if you have them. If you don’t, return to Elleh after you get Torrent and speak to Renna. They are perhaps the most useful summon you will find for the early sections of the game and will really save your tail more than once. While they do minimal damage to opponents, the fact that there are three of them means three distractions for your enemy.

Next up, make sure you have something capable of doing decent long-ranged attacks, like a Glintstone Staff. As soon as you enter the arena, lock on to Leonine and start using your sorcery to get in plenty of cheap hits and chip away at its life bar.

Once Leonine has closed the distance to you, they attack very similarly to the enemies you encountered throughout Castle Morne, with pronounced lunges and swings. Just keep rolling away to dodge their wide AOE attacks and use your ranged attacks once the wolves start distracting them to keep chipping away at their health.

Be wary of getting too close to Leonine, as while you can roll your way to a close quarters victory, their shriek can really be a pain, and they also have quite unexpectedly fast attacks that can catch even the best rollers off guard. Your wolves can stagger them slightly and give you an opening to be aggro, but again beware of just how hard they hit.

Use your Flask of Cerulean Tears to keep your FP totted up and keep on firing away with your sorcery until you eventually defeat Leonine Misbegotten. It’s cheap and it’s cheesy, but if the bosses don’t always play fair in Elden Ring, why should you?

You can also parry Leonine’s attacks by using a shield with 100% damage negation, though beware that he hits very fast so you’re going to have to also be very fast to keep up with him. To parry, you need a shield with the skill and to use L2/LT at almost the exact moment a strike hits you.

You will unlock the Grafted Blade Greatsword for defeating Leonine, a Colossal sword that needs a colossal 50 strength to effectively wield.

Take this weapon to Edgar on the ramparts in the castle to complete the Irina questline.

Players will also be given 3800 runes for defeating Leonine.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X & S, and Xbox One.
