It wouldn’t be a Saudi show without an obligatory appearance from WWE Hall of Famer, Goldberg. The former Universal Champion is reportedly set to do battle with ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns in one of Goldberg’s final appearances for the company under his current contract.
Goldberg was destined to meet Reigns at WrestleMania 36 in the show’s titanic main event, however due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, this match was cancelled and Roman was replaced by a ready Braun Strowman. The match itself was a bit of a let-down, but it did give Strowman his first major win at WrestleMania, capturing the Universal Championship after a short exchange of finishers.
Goldberg last competed in October at the last Saudi pay-per-view event, Crown Jewel. Here, he defeated his then-rival Bobby Lashley in an explosive no-holds-barred contest. The former WCW headliner was victorious in this occasion and looks to round out his in-ring career with one final big match against arguably WWE’s biggest star since John Cena.
This match is set to be confirmed imminently, I’d expect Goldberg to make his return to WWE TV sometime in the next week.
