Looks Like Alien’s Xenomorph & Ripley Are Coming To Fortnite (UPDATED)

Why not!

Alien Isolation

If you needed any further proof that this is the Ready Player One season of Fortnite, it looks like the newest portal will be bringing yet another 80s icon into the game: the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise, along with Ellen Ripley.

First seen in the titular 1979 movie, the Xenomorph, which is an alien species designed by the legendary H. R. Giger, has been an icon of sci-fi horror in the decades since, last seen on the big screen in the pretty polarising Alien: Covenant. They’ve even gone up against Predator in a series of movies and games, who’s actually the secret Battle Pass skin for Season 5. They wouldn’t, would they?

Here’s everything you should know about the Xenomorph and Ripley skins in Fortnite.

Wait, Xenomorphs In Fortnite?

Yes, really. Nothing is off the cards with Fortnite anymore. It doesn’t seem to matter if the properties in question are family-friendly or not, Fortnite is going to collaborate with them. That’s totally fine by us.

The portal was first decrypted by ShiinaBR, who seems to have found a file that depicts the Nostromo or perhaps even a location from Alien: Isolation. You can hear hissing pipes and the same horribly oppressive soundscape that should be familiar to anyone who’s been scarred by the Alien franchise before.

Backing this up is the fact that this skin has a built-in emote, which will likely revolve around the special “tongue” of the Xenomorph. While it could technically be a Ripley skin, there’s only one encrypted outfit left in the game and Epic wouldn’t miss out on the chance to re-enact Alien vs Predator, surely.

Fortnite themselves tweeted out a reference to a “Warrant Officer”, which would be Ellen Ripley.

Here’s an early glimpse at the skins themselves.

Ripley’s hair doesn’t seem quite right, but that’s certainly as close to them as you’re going to get once they’ve been “Fortnited”.

Alien Xenomorph Fortnite Skin Release Date

Judging by the Street Fighter collab, the Xenomorph and Ripley should arrive in the Fortnite Item Shop within the next couple of days, either on February 25th or 26th.

The Alien skins will likely be up for sale for at least a few days, if not a week, just based off how long other collaboration skins have been in the Item Shop for.

Alien Xenomorph Fortnite Skin Price

As for how much the Xenomorph and Ripley skins will cost, it should be around 1500-1800 V-Bucks for both as a bundle if the Street Fighter skins are anything to go by. There’s also definitely going to be other cosmetics sold with it — we’d bet good money on a facehugger egg being a Back Bling.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Android.
