Cracking down on cheaters.

In an effort to crack down on filthy cheaters that are currently plaguing Call of Duty: Warzone, Infinity Ward have announced that they’ll be adding two-factor SMS authentication in order to play the game for free on PC. Check out the tweet below.

PC players who are enjoying Warzone while playing through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will not have to enable two-factor authentication. This is purely to prevent free-to-play users from creating accounts, using cheats and ruining the game for everyone else.

In the past, console players have been disabling cross-play in order to avoid PC cheaters, and Infinity Ward have detailed plans to match cheaters together in their own bad karma lobbies. Two-factor authentication appears to be the next step in their plans, and time will tell on whether or not it’ll improve the overall Warzone experience. Have you encountered cheaters while playing Call of Duty: Warzone? Let us know in the comments.
