UPDATE: confirmed with a shiny trailer.

ORIGINAL STORY: Crysis Remastered, which had been teased via the franchise’s long dormant social media this past week, has been accidentally revealed on the official Crytek website — and it’s coming to Switch.

As noted by Twitter user @RobotBrush, though the official Crysis site is just a looped video at the minute, you can visit its cookie or privacy policy pages, inspect their source, and see the following information within the metadata:

Crysis remastered 1

“From the makers of Far Cry, Hunt: Showdown and CRYENGINE, Crysis offers first person shooter fans the best-looking, evolved, and innovative gameplay, enabling players to adapt in real time to survive. Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch.”

There’s even some details about signing up for newsletters about the remaster along with its official logo, confirming it as official even more. We’ve had to add a background to the below image, original here.

Crysis was infamous for how much it demanded of PCs way back in 2007, and may even ask quite a lot of some setups today. Two proper sequels followed to acclaim with PS3 and Xbox 360 receiving decent ports, though who ever though we’d see the day when Crysis would go handheld?

Saying that, The Switcher’s release proves that anything is possible these days.

It won’t be long now until Crytek officially announce Crysis Remastered, so watch this space.
