While the main headline from today’s Pokémon Direct is the news that Sword and Shield will be receiving an Expansion Pass, that wasn’t the only news to get excited about. It was also revealed that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX would also be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer below.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon launched in 2006 on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS in Japan, as Blue Rescue Team and Red Rescue Team. These titles have now been given a full blown remake, and will launch on the Nintendo Switch on March 6th 2020, with pre-orders live today.
In Mystery Dungeon, you play as a human who has been turned into a Pokémon, and must form a rescue team in order to save other Pokémon from natural disasters. You also explore randomly generated dungeons and do battle in turn-based combat. It’s a unique game, for sure, and one that should tide you over until that Sword and Shield expansion pass drops. If you can’t wait until March, a free demo is live on the Nintendo eShop, and your save data will carry over.
