5 Potential Return Feuds For Bray Wyatt

Who should The Firefly Funhouse star feud with once he returns?

Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has consistently stolen headlines after each week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The Firefly Funhouse segments have been a breath of fresh air in amongst the monotony of Raw’s three hours as they’re creative and original — very fitting for Wyatt’s character. The intrigue surrounding his new aesthetic and gimmick has truly created a buzz, something he hasn’t had since his initial main roster debut in 2013.

The question is: who should Bray Wyatt feud with upon his return? There’s a handful of superstars that are currently left without much creative direction, so perhaps a feud with Wyatt and his band of Funhouse friends could help build them as much as it would Bray during his comeback.

We’ve picked out 5 potential superstars for Bray Wyatt’s return feud, so make sure you let us know who you’d like to see Wyatt face in the comments below.

5. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan

One of Wyatt’s best matches to date was with Daniel Bryan at the 2014 Royal Rumble. Their feud was a strange one to say the least, focused on Wyatt’s attempts to seduce Bryan into becoming a member of his Wyatt Family. Ultimately, Bryan walked away with the victory after a fantastic match to open the show. The rest of that night has become notorious in WWE lore.

Now that Bryan has become one of SmackDown Live’s top heels, he could make for a really interesting first opponent for Wyatt upon his return. Not only would this give ‘The Fiend’ an exciting in-ring scuffle to get him back into gear, but it could also be an interesting mix of personalities – with Bryan still sporting the Environmentalist gimmick alongside former Wyatt family member Rowan, and Wyatt’s kooky child-friendly character.

Should Bryan and Rowan drop the SmackDown tag titles to the duo of Otis and Tucker, then a singles feud with Wyatt would be right up our street.

4. Baron Corbin

Prior to Wyatt’s Funhouse vignettes, he was competing with Raw’s Constable Corbin on live events, in what were apparently some pretty fun matches. Logic suggested that the two would enter a feud around WrestleMania time, to help build Bray as one of Raw’s top babyfaces, but it never came to fruition.

With Corbin currently feuding with Universal Champion Seth Rollins on the road to Stomping Grounds, Corbin is in need of something to await him on the other side of the pay-per-view. The special guest referee has yet to be determined for their main event contest, so perhaps giving Bray Wyatt the honour of donning the black and white would help bring some numbers back to WWE for their inaugural Stomping Grounds event.

Interest in that feud, and Baron Corbin in general, is at an all-time-low. Wyatt is one of the few interesting parts of WWE programming, so let him add some flavour to this fairly generic title feud and give us a satisfying payoff to Wyatt’s comeback.

3. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens

With Bray Wyatt fully establishing himself as a babyface, or so it seems, a feud with Kevin Owens could be an ideal road for both men to go down. Owens has found himself floundering around with nothing to do since losing his feud with Kofi Kingston — he’s way too talented to be allowed to waste away on the SmackDown roster. Similar to Bryan, a match with Owens could not only be an interesting clash of styles, but also a fun wrestling match.

Owens and Wyatt are of similar build, and it has been a while since we’ve seen a decent hoss off in WWE. Wyatt’s need to rid WWE of any negative vibes could be a good enough reason for him to target the former Universal Champion (and his best bud Sami Zayn) upon his return.

Maybe it could lead to an Owens on a pole match, ith Wyatt trying to steal Kev’s child for a tour of the Funhouse?

2. Braun Strowman

‘The Monster Among Men’ was one of the few successes of The Wyatt Family. Bray and his bunch of loons never really secured any accolades to their name outside of NXT, but Braun did indeed establish himself as one of Raw’s top prospects after breaking away from the stable in 2016. Strowman went on to become even bigger than Bray himself, challenging for the Universal title on several occasions and even winning the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania.

Maybe if Bray was to return as a heel, he could go after Braun in an attempt to claw back some of his reputation, the mentor unleashing his bitterness over his student’s success. Wyatt and Strowman could have a really exciting feud, should both men be allowed freedom of creativity. It could not only delve in to the mystery surrounding the Wyatt Family, but also give Braun something interesting to do on Monday Night Raw.

This is very wishful thinking, considering the limitations placed on Wyatt in the past and the image they seem to have for Braun as a marketable main eventer. I think this is one of the more unlikely feuds we might see during Wyatt’s return, but still one we’d like to see one day.

1. Aleister Black

Somewhat of a dream match of mine, Wyatt and Aleister Black are two sides of the same coin, both sharing that dark, brooding aura, embracing the supernatural tendencies known to exist in WWE. Black has yet to debut on SmackDown Live after being drafted during the Superstar Shake-Up, and has been calling out members of the roster to offer him a real challenge in the ring. Very similar to what Bray Wyatt used to do, no?

Wyatt’s vignettes suggest that he’ll be returning to fight for the honour of innocent fun and playfulness, but there’s a much darker side to this character that I can’t wait to see used in the ring. Much like Finn Balor’s Demon persona, ‘The Fiend’ should be used under special circumstances, circumstances like a match with the equally satanic Aleister Black.

A match between these two would be a gothic dream; it would be hard-hitting and shrouded in doom and gloom. For those who enjoyed the creepier, more fantastical elements of the Attitude Era, then you’d feel right at home with a feud between Bray Wyatt and Aleister Black.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see who does accept Black’s offer for a fight.
