5. The collapse of The Authority
If you’re looking for the best example of WWE storylines faltering over the past year, you need only compare Survivor Series 2014 and 2015. The main event of 2014 was one of the most exciting traditional Survivor Series matches of all-time, culminating in the debut of Sting and the downfall of The Authority. After Team Cena defeated the power group of the company and end their reign, Creative seemed to panic and quickly reinstated them, making the whole outcome redundant.
As much as I am against rehashing old ideas, The Authority need to go down for real at Survivor Series 2016, even if it means another year of twenty minute promos and confusing allegiances. The guy to lead the insurrection? Dean Ambrose. And his surprise partner in crime? A very pissed off Seth Rollins. As for Reigns, as the top heel at this time next year, he would be aligned with The Authority before turning on them to reunite with The Shield and defeat the bad guys once and for all. Reigns will finally receive love from the fans and the company will have one of its greatest teams ever back. Come on, WWE, this shit writes itself.
