14 Best Anti-Valentine’s Day Songs

Valentine’s Day. It’s that time of year when all you cynical bastards bemoan all the love and romance you’re drowning in because; it’s shallow; it’s corporate consumerism; it’s an excuse to make up for being a shitty partner the other three hundred and sixty four days and a quarter; it’s all bullshit anyway, love, relationships, the lot of it. Well, no wonder you’re single.

OH MY GOD I’M SO FUCKING LONELY!

Ahem. Anyway…

You’re right though, it is just a crock of shit, and that’s why we here at Cultured Vultures are offering you an audio palette cleanser with these 14 tracks that represent the antithesis of Valentine’s Day. There is no love lost in these tracks, well, I mean there probably was to inspire them, but that’s not the point. These songs are anti-love anthems, for one reason or another, and they are not suitable for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!

Of course, I’m aware we’re simultaneously publishing a playlist of alternative love songs, but that’s a cynical abuse of a ‘holiday’ season for you. Here’s to dying alone, anyway.

1. The Vandals – My Girlfriend’s Dead

2. Misfits – Die, Die My Darling

3. Kelis – Caught Out There

4. TLC – No Scrubs
