Free Playstation Plus Games for July 2015 Announced

Another month, another quite frankly excellent selection of free games for Playstation Plus members. Although it’s arguably not the strongest month to date, there’s still plenty of great additions to download on July 7th. With E3 2015 just gone, Sony are keeping with their consistent form of being too kind to their customers.

Let’s crack on with it.

Rocket League (PS4)

If you’re of the opinion that there just aren’t enough split-screen games being made any more, I have to agree with you. Luckily, we can look forward to Rocket League: a fast-paced vehicle sports game that looks like Twisted Metal after 100 Red Bulls. Bring some friends over and act like its 1999 with this relentless bit of mayhem. Could be a lot of fun.

Styx: Master of Shadows (PS4)

Things take a turn for the stealtier with Styx: Master of Shadows later this month. A little underappreciated on initial release, here’s hoping it proves to be more than an Assassin’s Creed clone with added goblins, but from what has been shown so far, that doesn’t look like being a problem. It might not win awards but Styx could plug a hole in your gaming quota quite nicely.

Rain (PS3)

I might just have to dust off the old PS3 for this one. Leaning towards the indie side of things, Rain is an unconventional love story which casts you in the shoes of a boy attempting to catch a girl’s silhouette. The elements are your best friend in this enthralling adventure game, which will definitely be worth a download.

Mousecraft (PS4, PS3 and Vita)

Definitely nothing to do with mining, Mousecraft is one of those games that might have slipped you by over the past months. With a few less than subtle nods to Lemmings, the game follows your toils as you help a gang of mice to find cheese and evade the clutches of a crazed cat scientist. That is one of the more intriguing plots to come out of gaming in a long while.

Entwined (PS4, Vita)

A game based all around the power of co-ordination, Entwined was initially released in 2014, but is definitely one that deserves a second chance at a bigger audience. Your reflexes will be tested to the limit in this philosophical and smart release that could almost be classified as art. If you’re a fan of Call of Duty, this might not be the game for you.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions (PS Vita)

After finding some success on the big daddy PS4, the newest entry in the Geometry Wars series gets scaled down for Sony’s handheld console this month. If you love your action to be big, bright and a little bit overwhelming, get this downloaded on your Vita soon.

The list:

7th July: Rocket League (PS4)
7th July: Styx Master of Shadows (PS4)
7th July: rain (PS3)
7th July: Mousecraft (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)
7th July: Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved (PS Vita)
7th July: Entwined (PS4/PS Vita)
