A little bit of Saudi TLC.

WWE’s Saudi chronology is set to continue later this year when the superstars of RAW and SmackDown Live return to Jeddah for what is suspected to be this year’s instalment of the TLC pay-per-view. Having already fulfilled one of their two contracted events within the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, WWE are planning to make their return much later than usual, bringing a PPV-quality event in either late October or early November, the exact date is currently unknown.

This will be the first TLC event in over a year, having not been included in the 2021 PPV calendar, despite being one of WWE’s favoured stipulation-shows. It’s notable that this Saudi event will also coincide with the September UK pay-per-view event that is reportedly set to take place in Cardiff, Wales, although WWE have yet to confirm this themselves. Perhaps they’re building towards a month of global events?

The last time WWE visited Jeddah for a ‘premium live event’ was back in February, when Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. This event was widely considered one of WWE’s stronger Saudi-Arabia events, championing diversity through several women’s matches as well as providing the excited audience with some great wrestling.

The relationship between WWE and Saudi Arabia dates back to 2018, when Vince McMahon penned a deal to provide the Saudi fanbase with at least two huge events per year. Albeit controversial, this partnership continues to bring new business and revenue to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
