Reports are circulating that over the weekend both Samoa Joe and New Day’s Xavier Woods have suffered injuries that will keep them out of action for several weeks.

Firstly, Samoa Joe’s occurred at a live event in Arkansas – more specifically a knee injury. It is believed that he will be missing action for at least four weeks, yet WWE have yet to acknowledge this officially. It was assumed that Joe would be entering into a feud with John Cena leading up to No Mercy, however plans for that have been altered last minute to produce the much anticipated Cena/Reigns match.

Xavier Woods’ injury again relates to a strained knee, word has yet to circulate on how long this will keep him out for, but nevertheless I wouldn’t be expecting him to return to competition anytime soon. Thankfully the freebird rule can keep the New Day active on Smackdown Live, while allowing Xavier Woods to remain on TV as a ringside manager – something which Woods has become somewhat of an expert at.

It seems the theme on untimely injuries are coming back to haunt the WWE, let’s just hope that the trend starts and ends with these two.
