WWE Money In The Bank 2020 Cancelled By Venue

I mean, of course it was.

The upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view has officially been cancelled by the event’s planned venue in Baltimore. The Royal Farms Arena released a statement this morning detailing their obvious reasoning behind this decision, which is of course a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“The WWE Money in the Bank event originally scheduled for Sunday, May 10 in Baltimore has been cancelled. Refunds are available at all points of purchase.”

I’m not sure there’s a single fan that will be surprised by this announcement, as this pay-per-view is only a few weeks away and there are currently no signs of things returning to normal before at least the Summer. Triple H’s statement of accepting the current climate as the new norm seems to be ringing true, as WWE will now have to once again adapt one of their biggest annual pay-per-views to take place in a more secluded environment, should it go ahead as planned.

It’s likely that MITB will take place from within the WWE Performance Centre, much like WrestleMania and the episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live that are currently in the process of being taped. Unless there are any drastic backstage developments between now and May 10th, I’d still hedge my bets that we’ll see a new Mr. and Mrs. Money in the Bank in the coming weeks.
