WWE is best known for some of the most hellish steel structures in all of pro wrestling: Steel Cages, Hell in a Cell, Punjabi Prisons, but most impressive of all is the Elimination Chamber. First introduced in 2002 at the Survivor Series pay-per-view, the Elimination Chamber boasts ten tonnes of steel and two miles of chain, locking in six WWE superstars to engage in bloody battle.

Two wrestlers start in the ring with the other four locked in their individual chambers, awaiting their turn to enter the match. Every 5 minutes, a new superstar is randomly selected to join the fray. The superstars must eliminate one another by pinfall or submission, and can use any means necessary to achieve those goals.

The Elimination Chamber has often been home to some of WWE’s most iconic superstars: John Cena, Triple H, AJ Styles and The Undertaker have all spilled blood in the demonic structure. Unlike most of WWE’s stipulation matches, the Elimination Chamber has been awarded high acclaim from some of wrestling’s most notable awarding bodies: the 2016 edition where Bray Wyatt captured his first WWE Championship being the first that comes to mind.

If you like your marathons of brutality, then make sure you make a pit stop in the Elimination Chamber, whether that be with its origins in 2002 or its most recent outings at its very own pay-per-view of the same name.
