WWE 2K fans have been awaiting the official reveal of this year’s cover stars and 2K20’s first taster of gameplay as part of their reveal trailer. Fortunately for us, we got a sneak peak at the reveal content a day early that we should have, as the trailer as well as some details regarding the pre-order bonuses were leaked over the weekend.
As expected, the cover will be graced by not just one, but two major WWE stars. Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch will be the faces of the 2K franchise this year, leading the charge as they get gamers to step in the ring and become ‘the man’.
In the trailer, we see numerous WWE legends and current superstars wining and dining at an esteemed gentlemen’s club. Becky Lynch crashes the party, by literally crashing through the ceiling, and steps up to patriarchal faces like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Roman Reigns. The trailer then breaks into a small slice of the gameplay, as we see the in-game models of Reigns and Lynch battling with Charlotte Flair and The Miz.
Nothing too impressive just yet, but we expect some more gameplay to drop later on in the day at 2K’s official release.
A little extra detail was leaked this morning as part of Walmart’s pre-order page. Information regarding this year’s collectors edition and pre-order bonuses shows that 2K20 will celebrate SmackDown’s 20th Anniversary, providing super-fans with a piece of history in an actual piece of canvas from a SmackDown ring, as well as some bonus characters to boot. Chyna will be making her first 2K appearance, as well as a returning Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Mankind.
