According to a new report from Geeks Worldwide, the upcoming Batman game that’s been long teased by Warner Bros. Montreal will be considered a soft reboot of the Arkham series, as the developers are planning to kick off a new DC Game Universe.

The report notes that WB started off developing a follow-up to Arkham Knight, focusing on Bruce’s son Damian Wayne taking over the iconic moniker. However, this was cancelled before it was set to be revealed during The Game Awards 2016, with the developers running through a couple of ideas before settling on a fresh start.

Details have been somewhat scarce, but the report corroborated the long running theory that the game will feature the infamous Court of Owls in a big way. Expanding on that, this new game will feature a playable Batfamily, and will introduce co-op. Beyond that, more titles in this universe are in the works, including Rocksteady’s mysterious new project and a next-gen Superman game. This new Batman game is set to release this autumn, so hopefully we’ll see a full reveal soon enough.
