It’s a pretty expensive time to be an enjoyer of video games right now, especially with so many incredible games coming out seemingly by the day and so many sales looking to take your money as we gear up for the holiday season. If you don’t mind a slightly older game and appreciate games that cost absolutely nothing, Ubisoft has a little treat for PC players.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is currently available for free from now until December 6th, 2023 for everyone, as long as they have a Ubisoft Connect account (also free). All you need to do is follow this link, and then claim the key by hitting the Ubisoft Connect button, after which you will be taken to the launcher if you already have it downloaded or get a download link.

If the key for Syndicate isn’t automatically applied, you should be able to find a “Claim Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” notice on the left hand side of the Ubisoft Connect launcher. Click that, then redeem Syndicate for free and claim it as yours forever. The download size is around 46GB.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a bit of an overhated gem in the AC series. The last traditional game before Origins came along and made everything much, much too long, Syndicate probably has the best movement across the whole of the franchise, while its setting, Victorian London, is absolutely bustling. Sure, the Frye siblings aren’t the best protagonists in an Assassin’s Creed game, but they’re more than decent avatars for you to muck around in an open world with. It’s also a real looker too, but for some reason it always seems to get forgotten about among the many, many entries.

Here’s a quick synopsis for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate:

“London, 1868. The Industrial Revolution unleashes an incredible age of invention, transforming the lives of millions with technologies once thought impossible. Opportunities created during this period have people rushing to London to engage in this new world, a world no longer controlled by kings, emperors, politicians, or religion, but by a new common denominator: money.”

We know you’ve probably got an absolutely horrendous backlog right now (sorry for adding to it), but if you just want a good open world game with tonnes to see and do, as well as some of the best stealthing around, you really cannot go wrong here — especially for free.
