Few games have been quite so interesting and unique as Hypnospace Outlaw from developers Tendershoot and publishers No More Robots. Exploring a parody of the late-90s version of the Internet is an experience that’ll naturally stick with you, so it’s no surprise that the team have announced two more experiences set in the same world.
During today’s Hypnospace Next presentation, which is essentially a Nintendo Direct for all things Hypnospace, Tendershooter and No More Robots announced Dreamsettler and Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer. Yes, I’m pretty sure Vengeance is intentionally spelt wrong.
Dreamsettler is the spiritual successor to Hypnospace Outlaw, set in an alternate reality version of the early 00’s. You control a digital investigator, surfing the web with the view of becoming one of the best detectives on Sleepnet. Naturally though, you’ll stumble into a web of digital conspiracies that could affect the entire future of sleeptime computing.
As for Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer, fans of Hypnospace Outlaw might remember the name Zane
Lofton, aka ZANE_ROCKS_14. A character from the original Hypnospace, Zane worked on a game called Slayer X when he was 14. It’s now 2022 and he’s a 37 year old checkout manager, but he’s dug the game out and revamped it.
Slayer X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer is a DOOM inspired FPS where players try to take down “The Psyko Sindikate”, who are using Hackblood energy to revive evil enemies with a view of taking over the world. Obviously, that simply will not do. If you’re still wondering how a fictional character in Hypnospace Outlaw can release a game in the real world, why don’t you ask Zane yourself?
Both games will be coming to PC and consoles in 2022, with platforms and release dates to be confirmed at a later date.
