As arguably one of the best games ever made, you might be a little surprised to see that the Bioshock remaster has some meaty negative reviews over on Steam. It’s not because the game might not have aged all that brilliantly, rather because BioShock’s PC remaster is a bit of a hot mess right now. The same applies for BioShock 2.

Issues are widespread, with crashing and general performance dips being the main problems. Publisher 2K has been quick to address fan concerns and has stated on the game’s official Steam page what they will do to fix things:

Since the launch of BioShock and BioShock 2 Remastered, some players have been reporting stability issues, while others have asked for additional feature support. We hear you and we’re happy to report we’re addressing this feedback soon. Whether it’s your first time in Rapture, or you’re revisiting it again, we want your experience with the BioShock remasters to be as enjoyable as possible.

The breakdown of what they will do to fix things:

General Mouse Fixes, including better Mouse Smoothing, Sensitivity and Acceleration Options in BioShock
Additional Speaker Mode Options in Audio Settings in BioShock
Improved FoV Slider Options in BioShock, BioShock 2, and the Minerva’s Den DLC pack
Support for 21:9 display ratios in BioShock, BioShock 2 and the Minerva’s Den DLC pack
General stability improvement to reduce instances of game crashes.

Any additional issues will most likely be worked through until they are sorted, so if you have any other bugs you might like 2K to know about, be sure to let them know on their website.

As disastrous as the PC launch has been for BioShock: The Collection, the console versions are faring far better. They’re cracking the top ten gaming charts and receiving good critical reviews, though everyone probably just wishes they were playing BioShock 4.
