Transformers: The Last Knight Gets A Hideous New Poster

What the heck is this thing? I know that Michael Bay’s Transformers movies suck donkey balls, but did Paramount’s marketing department really have to create the ugliest possible poster for The Last Knight? A kid with crayons could create something better than this abomination. Seriously, what were Paramount thinking?

This work of art comes courtesy of Paramount’s Australian Instagram account, and it honestly seems like they weren’t even trying.

Over the last two years, Paramount Pictures have established themselves as something of a bomb factory, because the majority of their films have been financial flops. Last year, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Zoolander 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Ben-Hur, and Allied were all considered financial failures, resulting in the studio losing over $500 million in revenue.

Things didn’t improve in 2017, as Paramount also lost $115 million from Monster Trucks and $70 million from Ghost in the Shell. Along with Spongebob, Mission Impossible and Star Trek (even though Beyond underperformed), Transformers is one of the only things that still makes money for them. So, unless the studio can establish a successful new franchise, expect them to continue making Transformers movies until the end of time. Happy days.

Transformers: The Last Knight is directed by Michael Bay and stars Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins, Isabela Moner and Tyrese Gibson. This masterpiece of modern cinema opens on June 21.
