Toradora! is one of the most successful anime rom-coms and was an instant classic when it was released back in 2008. People would argue that Taiga and Ryuuji’s love story fleshed out the formula that tons of anime rom-coms would follow to this day. It makes sense that the desire for Toradora!: Season 2 is so huge.
You might think that the excitement would have died down more than a dozen years later, but not so. The hype for the show has reignited ever since it got released on Netflix in 2020. So, when is Toradora!: Season 2 coming out, and what will it be about?
When Is Toradora!: Season 2 Being Released?
Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely for the Palmtop Tiger to hit the screens again, as the Toradora! anime already covered the entire source material. As most anime rom-coms go, the story ends with Taiga and Ryuuji becoming a couple and their class graduating. Their and the rest of the cast’s fates are left to the minds of the audiences.
Fans would have to wait and see if Yuyuko Takemiya, the creator of the series, ever decides to pick the series back up. Before then, the chances of Toradora!: Season 2 ever coming out are slim.
You might be a little confused when you notice that the latest manga volume was released at the start of 2023. Toradora!’s source material is the light novels; the manga is just another adaptation. But unlike the anime, it’s going at an incredibly slow pace, with long breaks between volumes and chapters.
What Could Toradora!: Season 2 Be About?
As stated above, the anime already adapted everything the light novels have to offer, so our guess is as good as yours.
If it keeps up the wholesome romance plot, then Taiga and Ryuuji will keep getting closer and closer, until they one day marry and start a family. That would be the general gist of it; you’ll have to imagine the specifics for yourself.
Which Studio Could Make Toradora!: Season 2?
Although unlikely, the odds are never zero. If Toradora!: Season 2 ever comes one day, the producers and animation studio that dealt with the first season would probably work on it too. Genco, Starchild Records, Magic Capsule, Yomiuri Advertising, and TV Tokyo Music all co-produced Season 1, while J.C. Staff animated it.
Fortunately, all these companies are still actively producing and animating anime. They can all band together again and give Toradora! fans the top-notch quality they’ve come to expect from the show. Some of these companies have even made other beloved anime, such as Magic Capsule producing Re:Zero and J.C.Staff animating Food Wars!.
Where To Watch Toradora!
The first season of Toradora! is currently available on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix, depending on your region.
If you tried these options and Toradora! or the services themselves are region blocked in your area, here’s what you need to do. Get yourself a VPN and use it to switch your IP address to a region where the show isn’t blocked. Picking an IP address in the USA is a safe bet if it’s available on your VPN.
