Courtesy of Bloody Disgusting, it’s been reported that Tobin Bell will be making a return to his most iconic role. Saw: Legacy is bringing Jigsaw back, despite the evil genius being dead for years, but that hasn’t stopped a lot of Saw sequels from featuring Jigsaw anyway.
As for how he will return, the plot will revolve around the investigation into a series of murders that all have the hallmark signs of Jigsaw, leading the police to believe it’s a copycat killer. If you can read between the lines, it may be another of Jigsaw’s long-winded machinations that brings him back to the big screen. Perhaps he had another “student” or someone just found his private YouTube channel; who knows.
Whatever the case, the report suggests that Jigsaw won’t be the main focus and will have limited screen time. The rest of the cast includes Mandela Van Peebles, Hannah Anderson, Laura Vandervoort and Brittany Allen among others.
If you can believe it, Saw: The Final Chapter came out back in 2010 with the series seemingly finished as a result. It was recently revived, however, which will lead to Saw: Legacy this October, presumably in time for Halloween.
It’s worth bearing in mind that this isn’t confirmed information until it’s officially announced. Bloody Disgusting have a mixed track record for “exclusives”.
